Within walking distance of our quiet beach and only 1km from the main bay, you can enjoy the best of both the bush and the beach. 

We have an on site dive charter which specilizes in personal service and will open the wonderful world of diving in Ponta d Oura & Ponta Malongane to you.

Deluxe Reed Cabanas

Our deluxe cabanas, which are very private, are set under the cool indigenous trees. These units are 2 sleeper cabanas.

Each unit has a beautifully appointed bedroom, which sleeps 2 people a spacious en-suite bathroom, fully-equipped kitchen and a dining and braai area in front of each unit. Your unit also comes with a hammock, fan, mozzie net, plug points & electric lights.The 4 sleeper deluxe cabanas have an additional cabana located adjacent to the main cabanas which also sleeps 2 people in double or twin share beds, complete with electric lights, mozzie nets and a fan this is ideal for children or additional friends who want to join.

Standard Reed Cabanas en-suite

The standard reed cabanas are nestled discretely in the bushy, topical surrounding. We have 2 sleeper reed cabanas, which can be double or twin share.

There is electric light, power points, mozzie nets and fans in each standard reed cabana. They have spacious, spotless communal bathrooms, showers and toilets. There is a large well equipped communal kitchen which has gas cookers, fridges and all the necessary cooking equipment and utensils. There is a large, social dining area, boma/braai area and splash pool.

Standard Basic Reed Cabanas

The standard reed cabanas are nestled discretely in the bushy, topical surrounding. Our standard reed cabanas comprise of 2 sleeper reed cabana units.

The 2 sleepers can be double or twin share. There is electric light, power points, mozzie nets and fans in each standard reed cabana. They have spacious, spotless communal bathrooms, showers and toilets. There is a large well equipped communal kitchen which has gas cookers, fridges and all the necessary cooking equipment and utensils. There is a large, social dining area, boma/braai area and splash pool. The reed cabanas are ideal for families, friends and social groups.

Private Camp Sites

Our camp sites are enclosed by a reed fences and plants to create more privacy. Each camp site has its own bathroom with a shower toilet and basin, outside wash up area, lights and power point. The sites are grassed and level. Each site is approximately 12 x 20 metres so they are ideal for families and large groups.

To make your stay with us more comfortable we suggest you bring

• Beach towels.
• Personal toiletries.
• Mozzie repellent room spray (no candles or coils allowed).
• A torch.
• Fire lighters – wood and charcoal can be purchased in the market.
• Food if you are self-catering – there is a local market, bottle stores and a bakery in town so most things are available but we recommend you bring dairy products & meat. There are several restaurants in town if you wish to eat out.

• Restaurant: Enjoy excellent meals in a relaxed setting within our restaurant dining area.. Breakfast and Dinner are served for the convenience of our guests. Meals must be requested in advance.
• Sapphire Sands Venue: Our Sapphire Sands Venue is the perfect location for your special wedding day or private celebration with friends and family
• Blue Zebra Bar: Our Blue Zebra bar is the perfect setting to unwind and enjoy that sun-downer within our tranquil surroundings. The bar is adjacent to our pool and makes for the perfect opportunity to drink some icy beers or to sip a local R&R on those hot summer days
• Pool Area: Cool down in our pool area or simply take time out to use our outdoor couches and seating areas in the perfect setting to unwind and relax
• Communal Braai Area: Our communal braai area is perfectly positioned near the pool, and accommodates guests who wish to spend the evening socialising with friends and family
• Communal Kitchen: The communal kitchen is equipped with fridges and most basic amenities to ensure your self catering needs are taken care of

Weddings at Gala Gala Eco Resort, Ponta do Ouro

Ponta Do Ouro is an ideal wedding destination with easy access, beautiful beaches and affordable accommodation.

Our wedding venue Sapphire Sands has 3 decks overlooking the sea with 180 degree sea views. We can arrange your ceremony on the beach and offer all additional catering and décor options.

Diving at Gala Gala Eco Resort, Ponta do Ouro

We have an instructor on hand for those of you that would like to try scuba diving or would like to continue your diving education when you are with us. We also work closely with a number of dive schools in South Africa and Maputo, so if you would like to complete your dive course before getting to us and need us to connect you with a dive school/instructor, please ask.
